As a young child, I found yoga before yoga had ever found me. Through the death of a family member at the age of 4, my mind opened to some of the most fundamental questions of life and reality. I began to question, how somebody can walk into a room and not come out?. That was the simplicity of death as a child. If they have gone somewhere, where is that? And, where am I now? If they were here and have gone elsewhere, then, where was I before I was here? Shortly, I arrived at the question, What am I? I played with this for some time without making much progress. Until one day I asked, What am I not? Looking at a wall, I knew I wasn’t the wall. And shortly after, my being opened to the awakening of ‘knowing’. By age 7, I was deconstructing my idea of self, removing everything which was not a constant.

After this, I soon came to recognise the power of the breath. I began the journey of accessing the breath to activate my life force. This brought me into the subtle realm of lucid dreaming and astral projecting. Before bed, I would ask myself, am I about to go asleep or wake up? During astral projection, I asked myself the same question, but from the other perspective. Have I awakened or am I dreaming?

As far as I astral travelled, I eventually realised that my place is here. And here is where I am meant to be. The cycle of birth and death has its own timing, which should be honoured and respected.

Through my teenage years, I learned the boundless joy of trance dancing. Using the freedom of expression to connect with my higher self. I understood, that to master anything. The very thing itself must be the reward. Joy is the true value of joy, it does not require cause and effect. I brought this insight to higher states of energy and consciousness and began to experience the depth of Kundalini.

After years of deep philosophical questioning and profound energy work, I became aware of yoga in my early 20s. I began to practice asana, and to embody the complete journey of yoga.

I trained with Sivananda Vedenta International Ashrams in Canada and the Bahamas. I founded the Irish School of Yoga in 2000 and in 2007 I became the director of the YTTC. In 2013 I created the Crown System of Yoga, to begin to take people through the full system of yoga.

And in 2018, Amie and I met and we created Yago!

I am wildly passionate about living the truth of yoga. And sharing the truth of yoga truly is my life’s work.

As I move through my practice of yoga, parts of myself continue to reveal themselves to me. I love yoga for this. As my practice grows, my inner space grows with it. Yoga is a never ending journey of transformation.

I teach yoga to help guide others to embrace the peace of mind and power that can come from practice. My classes are strong and challenging, compassionate, and always from my heart. I nurture connection to the body, mind and soul to foster my students awareness.

My yoga mat is my magic carpet. I started yoga when struggling had become an ingrained pattern. And, I fell in love.

When I teach yoga, I’m sharing my joy and enthusiasm for the freedom the practice brings to me. I work to help my students remove obstacles and find comfort, strength and grace in their bodies.

Within my classes, I layer breathing techniques, intense and mindful asana practice and deep relaxation for a complete mind, body and soul experience.

Yoga has been the joining together of different aspects of me so I don’t feel scattered, isolated or stressed. When I came to yoga, I was pretty broken and now, I have a really good relationship with myself and I am more authentic with others.

Yoga has also really helped in the management of my Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I love transformation and healing themes. I genuinely connect with everything I teach. I have a real love for people and it means the world to me when I see how people grow with the practice.

I am smiley, high energy, full of warmth and heart. I love to marry my yoga and psychology together to enrich my classes and I am well known for my hugs. In my classes, there are no rules, your body knows what feels good.

What captivated me about yoga was being able to use my breath in new ways. With this simple practice, I could be without thought for a few minutes.

I enjoy taking people through the whole journey of yoga. From resting, to stretching, to building strength. I compliment my classes with aromatherapy and sound to deliver a completely immersive experience, which blossoms into smiles and all round well-being.

I arrived on the yoga mat looking for rehabilitation after knee surgery 15 years ago. I found the beginning of a very winding road where I slowly developed the tools to heal more than my knee.

Yoga provides me with a full diagnostic, body and mind. The energy and strength l get are by-products of a practice that has allowed me to live more mindfully, helping me to find balance in a life that we all find too busy. I have learned to take time, reflect and try to accept the things I can’t change. These are the things I love capturing in my classes. Sharing what I’ve learned to help others come to a better understanding of themselves is why I teach. Watching people find insight on the mat is as rewarding for me as it is for them.

For me, the beauty of yoga is that it is always there. It will always be there. At a time when I needed it most, it brought grounding, stability, focus, clarity and fun into my life. It allowed me to access my inner stillness and calm.

If I can bring to one person what other teachers have brought to me through their passion and love for yoga, for life, then I will feel privileged.

Teaching yoga is about speaking from the heart. Speaking you own truth. And sharing it. As a teacher, it’s important that I do this, each and every time I arrive on the mat.

Yoga means ‘union’ and this simple translation lies at the heart of what I love most about my practice. The union or connection that yoga cultivates with the self, with others and with the world around us.

Through teaching, I have discovered a deeper yogic connection by being able to share my journey with others and guide students along their own path. I provide practical tools in each class to help my students feel empowered to take charge of their own wellbeing.

My classes are ideal for those looking for a balance between a dynamic physical class and a softer, more introspective practice. I explore beyond the physical postures, incorporating pranayama (breathwork), meditation and becoming attune to the subtle energy system for a more holistic approach to yoga, by recognising it as a tool to improve the quality of how we experience life and discover an inner joy!

At 24, I found yoga to heal a crippling injury. Yoga brought mobility back to my life. I was empowered by the transformation – if my wrist could heal, what else was possible?

It’s this potential for transformation that I love so much about yoga. Each class is made up of students from every walk of life, with different backgrounds and stories. But we all share the same space on this journey of transformation. It’s amazing and humbling to see everyone’s hard work and progress.

I like to create a challenging and empowering class, where students feel supported and free to try new things while still having fun, and sharing some laughter.

I started yoga following a diagnosis of lupus. I had limited mobility and was suffering physically and emotionally from rigid muscles. I felt like giving up on my body. I began a little skeptical and within weeks I had found a reservoir of pain relief and inner peace. Slowly, day-by-day my body became stronger. Month-by-month I became more disciplined, calmer and more controlled than I had experienced in years.

I want to pass this experience to as many people, who through illness or injury, thought their body was done for. My classes are mindful and compassionate. Strong but paced for student learning and development.

I jumped into teaching yoga in search of the perfect pose. I soon learned that yoga is about so much more than the perfect pose. It is about the journey. The progress. And all the wonderful steps along the way, emotionally, physically and mentally. Yoga helped me to see myself for who I am. And to be ok with that. Yoga helped me to swap perfection for acceptance. To see beauty and progress in the smallest of things.

In my classes I open the space for students to walk their own path. To uncover their own findings. To move in their own bodies. And for everyone to enjoy the experience.

Yoga is my homecoming. It is my breath of fresh air. I roll out my mat and I never quite know what to expect.

Through my practice I have learned how to meet my body where it is, on any given day, with acceptance and love. Some days I move powerfully, other days I move softly. Sometimes it all flows and other times all I do is lie down and breathe. My practice is ever-changing, ever-evolving. The constant is, that my mat always brings me to where I need to be. It brings me back in to my body and allows me to explore and heal my inner world. Through my yoga practice I have learned how to return to a place within myself where all the good stuff resides; beauty, truth, freedom and love.

Through both movement and stillness I have learned how to connect with my best self, my truest self. Above all, my practice allows me to connect more genuinely and meaningfully with the people and the world around me.

I found yoga when I moved from Italy to Ireland. Since then I’ve taken my love of yoga to the deep retreats on the shores of the River Ganges.

I focus on creating a safe and welcoming space where my students can deepen their awareness of body, breath and self, and find more space and vitality on and off the mat.

My classes are intended for all levels and focus on a mindful flow of breath and movement, with great attention to alignment.
